COMMUNITY SOLAR
SunLight General Capital is an early adopter in the Community Solar Space in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. We have built several Community Solar projects in New York (ConEd and upstate), Rhode Island, and DC, and are currently developing additional projects in these areas.
In a Community Solar project, participants benefit from the electricity generated by a solar array even when it is not directly connected to their homes or businesses. There is no up-front installation or maintenance cost charged to the clients. Instead, local participants sign up to become off-site users of a portion of a project's solar electric generation and receive a guaranteed discount on their regular utility bill. Community Solar is a way for everyone to play their part in meeting their state's renewable energy goals while receiving significant long-term savings.
