Subscriber Acquisition Starts for Hartford Pike Community Solar Project in Rhode Island


September 2, 2020 - Foster, RI SunLight General’s 6 MW Hartford Pike project in Foster, RI starts construction and customer acquisition for Community Solar subscribers.


SunLight General Capital, in partnership with Newport Renewables, a local solar installation firm, and Terrasmart, a racking provider, has begun construction on a 6.2 MW project in Foster, RI which is expected to be fully operational in February, 2021. This project is structured in two tranches: Tranche 1 will provide electricity to the grid through Rhode Island’s Renewable Energy (RE) Growth Program, and Tranche 2 will provide Community Solar electricity to local subscribers through Rhode Island’s Community Net Metering Solar Pilot Program.


SunLight has also started acquiring customers for the 3.4 MW Community Solar tranche of the project. Partnered with Arcadia, SunLight General will offer clean energy and savings to more than 500 local Rhode Island residents.
